Denham and I collaborated to write this blasty jam, “Left For Good”. The EP/single release was sponsored by Rolling Stone, which made my 15 year old dreams come true. I love this song and I am super proud of it.
So psyched to release Vellichor, an album I composed/produced with my buddy Andy Forsberg. Andy and I worked entirely remotely to build this EP of moody music with beats, trying to combine dusty grooves with casual epicness.
I wrote a song with the De Luca Brothers for the LEGO Ninjago movie. "It's Garmadon" is Garmadon's theme, and man, did I have fun with this. I think we're all secretly a little addicted to LEGO, so the opportunity to write for this project was mind-meltingly awesome and I loved it.
This show is nuts. The creative corners these artists are pushed into and forced to forge something beautiful-I have no idea how they can figure it out on the spot. Ice sculpting? Melting metal? Ridiculous. Also, I really like working on shows that I would watch anyway.
I made the beat and produced this track for the awesomely hilarious GoNoodle, and it's just about to cross 400,000 views! That feels good.
Edited Dialogue on this scandalicous action:
I have some music on a few episodes of Vice on HBO. This show is so intense and awesome. I have never once turned in on and thought "Oh yeah, I knew that." It's always "Oh man, what? Where are they? Wow that's alot of blood." I love this network.
An old school P.I in a modern day case. New York City is the backdrop, and my music is the mood-setter for this awesome throwback piece, written and directed by Jordan Zakarin. Writing period-appropriate music that fits on a contemporary visual was definitely one of the more fun projects I've ever worked on. And the awesome Natalie Hart contributed some haunting, sultry vocals for the theme.
I'm currently mixing season 3 of this show for SpikeTV. I'm pretty sure Dave Navarro came up with this spin off because no one is having as much fun on the show than him. He dances in like a goth Willy Wonka, dropping challenges and soundbites and then vanishes into the shadows. It's a messy, loud, total blast to work on.
I mixed season 3 of this majestic drama-fest for LiveTime. It's like a Tumblr dash come to life.
